Reimagining Space for Growth (Part 2)
SPETA and JTC Corporation welcomed industry leaders to Industry Upclose at JID (Jurong Innovation District), highlighting how Singapore is empowering companies to innovate and grow in the precision engineering and advanced manufacturing sector.
Despite the heavy rain, spirits were not dampened as PE business leaders gathered to understand the latest developments at Bulim Square (~45,000 sqm site area; ~111,000 sqm NLA), designed to support businesses’ needs in adopting advanced manufacturing and Industry 4.0 practices. Phase 1 was recently completed in November 2024, with Phase 2 expected in the second half of 2025.
Pioneering tenants, including Makino Asia Group, shared their experiences in JID and how the district’s integrated approach supports innovation, collaboration, and long-term growth. Participants also gained practical insights on leasing, setting up operations, and tapping into the broader Innovation Estates network supported by JTC.
Far from being a “deserted” industrial estate, JID is being developed as a well-connected, car-lite district:
🚉 Seamlessly integrated with three MRT stations along the upcoming Jurong Region Line (JRL), linking to Jurong Lake District and Tuas Port.
🌉 An 11km Sky Corridor to encourage car-lite travel and connect communities to key transport and social nodes.
🏙️ Close proximity to residential estates and lifestyle amenities within walking distance, creating a vibrant Live-Work-Play environment.
JTC Corporation’s masterplans are shaping the future of advanced manufacturing in Singapore and creating opportunities for companies to innovate, collaborate, and grow within the Industry 4.0 ecosystem.
Special thanks to Jessica Chen, Peijun Xu, Eunice Pang, Kenny Chua for the collaboration!
